Description: New Hope Community Church came to JCA with the request to change out their existing PA with something that would be able to handle the full band that now was part of their regular worship service. The old PA didn’t cover the room well, was unsightly, and didn’t have near the low-end that their worship band required. To solve the problem, JCA turned to Martin Audio and their new CDD line with its new Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology to solve the problem. The dispersion pattern on the Martin CDD line is not like a standard horn, but rather is wider at the base (110 degrees) and narrows as it reaches the top (60 degrees) to keep the coverage where you need it and off the walls. Paired with two of the CDD12 mains, JCA added two Martin CSX118 single 18” subs to provide the low end New Hope wanted, with room to spare, and four VUE Audiotechnik I-2x4.5 front fills for the first few rows. The result was room shaking bass with consistent coverage for the entire room.
Partnering with JCA Media, Peake’s Custom Millwork and Trim took the small cutouts wear the existing subs were positioned, removed the steps, and created a sleek compartment where the subs could slide under the stage, saving floor space, help the subs fire forward, and blend right in with the front fills above them.
