This install is a perfect example of how even a small system, done with the right gear, can be impeccably clean, incredibly powerful, yet simple. From one custom 6’ FOH desk one person can run audio, lighting, projection, and video with ease.
The audio portion of this install utilized a Danley Sound Labs SM100B, two SHMini’s, two Cubes, and 4 Nanos, some of them custom stained, all powered by LEA amps. A Allen&Heath SQ-5 runs all audio, with some beautiful Earthworks choir, pulpit, and piano mics fed into some just as pretty Ace Backstage floor pockets on stage. While at FOH six Audio-Techinca wireless kits handle all wireless needs. Chauvet fresnels and Colordash pars handle front and rear lighting, and ETC Foundry dimmers on the existing house pendants allow them to be on DMX control, while three Doug Fleenor Design Preset 10 stations make for extremely easy control from nearly any room entry point. Lastly for video, Sony 7500 lumen laser projectors dominate the front screens, Panasonic PTZ’s provide gorgeous capture of the services, while a Blackmagic ATEM 1 Constellation switches and handles all video routing to the sanctuary, nursery, foyer, and fellowship hall. This project was a year in the making, but boy was it worth the wait! FUMC reached out to us with a simple, yet daunting task: rip it out and start over! Both the sanctuary and basement systems where antiquated, failing, weren't serving the churches needs, and in major need of help. Along with their tech director, Aaron Denney, we came up with a plan to not only get the systems up to today's standards, but communicate with each other, and have the ability to grow with the church!
The sanctuary system consists of the brand new Martin Audio Torus mains, paired with a killer SXCF118 sub, Martin's newest cardioid sub. An iKon 81 powers the main PA, as well as the VUE choir monitors. An LEA 354 amp powers four more Martin Audio Blackline monitors placed around the stage. Also in the stagerack is a gorgeous Allen&Heath ME hub ready to power up to ten ME-1 personal mixers on stage, and a GX4816 stagerack handling all the I/O. Lastly, six Shure QLXD wireless handle all of the handhelds and bodypacks on stage, all networked into Luxul switches for ultimate control. At FOH, an Allen&Heath SQ-6 handles the audio, a Blackmagic ATEM 1 switches, while a Hyperdeck records and a Web Presenter is ready to stream. All of the cameras are Panasonic PTZ's, and each of the sanctuary six TV's are all fed from a Blackmagic 12x12 smart hub for complete routing flexibility. But the best part is the custom made-on-site 16'x7' red oak FOH booth complete with an integrated rack with rear access, and J channeling under the entire length of the desk for beautiful cabling paths. In the basement, another Martin Audio system consisting of CDD6 mains and a SX112 sub rock out the room, ran through an Allen&Heath SQ-5, AB168, complimented with an ME-Hub, ME-1's, Panasonic PTZ's, and Blackmagic switching, recording, and streaming gear. And both systems can send and received audio AND video to each other! Such an awesome setup! After multiple weeks of pre-recording their service, LBC felt that they just wanted more interaction with their congregation, and decided to take on the project of actually building a streaming studio. One where they could stream live, and if the pastor was up to the task, have Facebook open to where they could see comments in real time and be able to communicate (as much as possible that way) with anyone that had a prayer request or something that wanted to say.
Wyoming Baptist reached out to JCA with the desire to improve not only their online ministry,
but revamp and simplify what they already had in house. They already had a nice console, stagebox, and some other components needed to get their system up and running, but it needed a good cleaning up and some organization. Like many churches, COVID caused LFA to look further into their online ministry, and first on the list was upgrading their video system. LFA was just filming with one camera, but wanted to move to multiple angles, and if at all possible, add POV cameras on stage.
At the start of COVID, Cave City Christian reached out to us like many churches, ready to look into the world of streaming! After discussing the options, they decided the PTZ route was the way to go, but that was only the start. They wanted to make sure that their audio would match the quality of their new video system, but it would need some work to do that. The existing console was not user friendly, the pa had a buzz in it, and the stage was lacking connections to mic all of their instruments to get them into the stream!
If there was ever a church that used all the possible processing power in an Allen&Heath T112 iLive console, it was FCC. When the current sanctuary was built, JCA Media installed the new (at the time) Allen&Heath iLive T112 and IDR48 mixrack. Since its installation, the channel count and required outputs needed have gown tremendously, and the iLive has began to show its age. In a new era where broadcast mixes are just as important as house mixes, FCC was looking to revamp their online audio and to do that channels needed to be shared from the iLive. Because of its limited architecture and not dated OS, the time to upgrade was now. To take it’s place, JCA Media installed a new dLive S5000 console, DM64 Stagerack to handle all inputs from stage, and a DX168 and DX012 to handle all wireless and IEM’s at FOH. For broadcast, an SQ-7 took the job, and is connected to the dLive via Dante to share channels for both mixes, as well as provide the ability to record and perform virtual soundcheck. Now, the possibilities are endless.

The soccer field is covered by four Danley OS80 outdoor speakers, with two Danley TH118XL aqua tight subs rounding out the bottom-end with ease. All six cabinets powered by just one Danley DNA 20K4 PRO amp. Control from the system lives in the field house that was constructed just to the left of the field. An Allen&Heath QU-PAC makes for easy control fo the systems two Shure QLXD wireless, Denon DN300Z Media player, and extra inputs for music and announcements.
Right outside the control room is a conference room with a whopping 85” Samsung display, six Martin 6.8T ceiling speakers, a simple Kramer switcher with an active HDMI/VGA wall plate, DVD player, media player, and live feed via fiber from the gym athletic facility vide control room, where the SDI feeds from the soccer are also fed to for switching and broadcasting! JCA has been fortunate to install the AV systems needed for the campus, and when the new athletic facility began construction, we were called upon once again to not only install an PA system, but a flexible broadcast system with plenty of room for growth.
